The scope of the deliverable is first: to clarify the Scope in the Standard; defining it as all devices/systems using ‘Fog’ to obscure vision in the protected area, when they are part of an I&HAS.
(Fog is defined as a dense cloud of tiny, liquid droplets suspended in the atmosphere, whatever the methods used directly or indirectly, to produce it.)
Secondly, to take into account the experience in using EN 50131-8 and all other relevant developments, and amend or revise the standard accordingly.
These discussions will address specifically, but without being limited to these aspects:
- replenishment of the device with fogging liquid
- visual or other indications on the installed device
- access rights for users
- aborting a running fog expulsion
- non-flammability of the device
- energy consumption
- performance and grading
- proof of non-toxicity.
