This document determines pour point using a step-wise cooling technique that is executed through automated equipment types with optical detection mode. This method is an alternative to the normal, manual technique in ISO 3016. It is a generic method that covers existing automated equipment.
This test method covers distillate and residual fuels, intended for use in diesel engines and domestic heating installations, middle distillates, heavy fuel oils and lubricants, having a pour point range of at least -51 °C to +51 °C.
