This European Standard specifies a test method using the high-frequency reciprocating rig (HFRR), for the assessment of the lubricating propertied of diesel fuels. This method is applicable to fatty-acid methyl esters (FAME), to distillate fuels as well as paraffinic diesel fuels, including those containing FAME, lubricity-enhancing or other additives, intended for use in diesel engines and domestic heating installations.
This standard presents two ways of capturing the image and measuring the dimensions of the wear scar in order to determine the wear scar diameter.
