This standard specifies the method for deteriming the permanent deformation caused by a static load in torsion. The load shall be applied to the opening casements. Any secondary moving casements, which may be mounted internally to the main casements, shall also be similarly tested. In this standard it is considered that stress is induced in other ancillary items, such as hinges, stays and mechanism of various sorts, via the moving casement. The test has been devised to cover all simple hinged or pivoted window types and configura- tions constructed from any suitable materials.
