Title | This standard applies to beverage containers with a capacity of up to 50 litres, consisting of two cylindrical deep drawn elements (shells) joined by welding. It covers containers rated for an operating pressure up to 3 bar. The containers are used as returnable packaging. Beverage containers in accordance with this standard (casks and kegs; "containers", for short) are preferably used for beer. This standard specifies the quality requirements with respect to material, constancy of volume and dimensional stability. NOTE In Germany, these containers come under group III as in article 7 (1) of the Verordnung über Getränke-schankanlagen and the relevant European Standard. |
