This document specifies the apparatus and procedure for determining the soluble alkali concentration of cements and other hydraulic binders at 28 days by extracting pore water from cement stone and determining the concentration of hydroxyl ions in the solution obtained. A reference and an alternative method are described resulting in the concentration of hydroxyl ions. The results of both methods show high correlation on different absolute levels [3].
