This standard applies to machinery using thermal cutting processes such as oxy-fuel cutting, plasma arc cutting or laser cutting. This standard applies to machinery the basis of which is either designed as open gantry machine or the track of which is incorporated in the cutting table or in a casing. Risks arising from laser radiation, except those caused by position indicating lasers are not covered by this standard. Cutting machines that combine cutting processes are partly covered by this standard. In addition process-related standards may be applicable.
