This document presents a method for verification of tack weldability of reinforcing bars. The purpose is to ensure that sufficient strength and ductility will remain in the welded material when short welding times are applied. The annex does not cover the welded joint itself. Reinforcing bars that meet these requirements may be welded for fixing purposes with non-loadbearing welded joints, without further verification of the properties of the steel after welding. Though only the welding process 135 is applied in the test described below, the weldability is considered verified also for the welding processes 111 and 23, for all these welding processes down to 0 °C.
