This document specifies the requirements for medium tolerance sling chains of grade 10 for use in chain slings of grade 10 for lifting of
goods.
The range of nominal diameter, dn, covered by this document is from 4 mm to 32 mm.
These sling chains are round steel short link chains with a nominal pitch, pn = 3 × dn, electrically welded, heat-treated and tested.
They are for use in the temperature range -40 °C to +380 °C.
These chains are characterised by a high material ultimate strength as a function of the tight specification of the breaking stress and the nominal diameter. The high failure resistance is secured by the high toughness at lowest operation temperature, by a certified fatigue strength and by a certified corrosion resistance.
