This European Standard specifies the test methods and procedures required to carry out measurements of the TFC characteristics specified in EN 753-1:1997 and EN 53-2:1997. Many of the standard methods available for checking physical properties of base materials are intended to be applied to samples cut from continuous material or large sheets. Within the scope of EN 753 however, it shall be clearly understood that all requirements of EN 753, unless explicitly stated otherwise, apply to finished cards.
