This Document gives guidance for the dynamic analysis of bridges under the loading of railway traffic, considering the interface between the structures and the rolling stock. It includes first a short review of the nature and factors influencing the dynamic response of bridges, as well as the historical background of current standards. Then it describes the available methods for dynamic analyses including a brief technical description as well as the intended application and limitations for each case. Some examples of application for parametric analysis of bridges under different trains are included. Finally, an overview of available current processes on the different networks including compatibility checks for existing bridges is given. The methods described apply to the design of new bridges, as well as for the compatibility analysis of existing bridges with trains.
