Subsea systems within the scope of TC 18X, including all seabed installed and downhole power and control, interacting with topside and shore based facilities’ power and control systems. Addressing subsea electrical loads such as: motors and drives for pumps and compressors, energy distribution and storage, direct electric heating for pipe flow assurance, subsea controls - with elements instruments, sensors, controllers, modem communication all linked to the topside unit’s power system and control gear. The applicable choice of transmission medium for power and signals, e.g. galvanic/fiber/radio/acoustic/pulsed, will be site specific and according to functional requirements; design will be aligned to existing ISO and IEC/CENELEC technical standards and engineering practices.
