To prepare harmonized standards for the secure and reliable transmission of alarms and fault messages from protected premises to a monitoring centre (MARC) and the secure remote access and monitoring used in these systems. The scope includes in particular, but not limited to intruder and hold-up alarm systems, access control systems, periphery protection systems, combined alarm - fire alarm systems, social alarm systems, CCTV-systems and other monitoring and surveillance systems related to security applications.
The standards cover:
- Alarm transmission system performance;
- Alarm transmission equipment requirements;
- Common protocols for secure alarm transmission to achieve interoperability;
- Guidelines for the commissioning and management of alarm transmission systems
- Secure remote access to alarm system
Electrical safety, environmental conditions and behaviour of alarm systems regarding electromagnetic compatibility are also considered with reference to the appropriate standards.
