This European standard specifies the safety, construction and performance requirements of electronic gas/air ratio control systems (GARC) intended for use with gas burners and gas burning appliances. It also describes the test procedures for evaluating these requirements and specifies information necessary for installation and use. The standard applies to GARCs that can be tested independently or as part of an appliance or gas burner. A GARC is defined as a closed loop system which consist of the electronic control together with a minimum of two control elements together with their allocated feedback signals. Open loop systems are not covered. Electronic GARCs are application specific.
