It is proposed to add an alternative burner at Annex of ISO 13784-1, which should be in line with ISO
9705-1. As the members of ISO/TC92/SC1/WG7 already know, Annex A (normative) of ISO 9705-1:
2016 prescribes both standard ignition source (burner) and alternative ignition source (burner). On the
other hand, ISO 13784-1 prescribes only the standard ignition source (burner). See Figures 1 and 2.
In the case of standard ignition source, burner configuration is 170 (W) x 170 (D) x 145 (H) mm, and
heat output is 100 kW for the first ten minutes and 300 kW for the last ten minutes. On the other hand,
in the case of alternative ignition source, burner configuration is 305 (W) x 305 (D) x 152 (H) mm, and
maximum net heat output is (162 ± 4) kW.
