This European Standard provides for the assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of smoke alarms devices to this EN.
For the testing of other types of smoke alarms, or smoke alarms working on different principles, this document should only be used for guidance. The tests covered by this standard are not intended to verify special features of smoke alarms or special characteristics that have been developed for specific risks.
This European standard does not cover the requirements for devices intended for incorporation in systems using separate fire control and indicating equipment.
