Nosaukums(1) This document sets out additional requirements for exposure resistance class ERC concretes. Requirements for constituent materials, as well as fresh or hardened concrete properties are covered by EN 206, product standards and provisions valid in the place of use. (2) Initial type testing ITT, any additional testing, and other requirements are set out for ERC concrete for: ― exposure resistance to carbonation classes, XRC classes ― exposure resistance to chloride ingress classes, XRDS classes (3) Initial type testing ITT, any additional testing, and other requirements are not set out for ERC concrete for: ― exposure resistance to freeze/thaw attack ― exposure resistance to chemical attack Requirements for exposure resistance classes for freeze/thaw and chemical attack may be set out in provisions valid in the place of use. (4) This standard includes provisions for four levels of testing and assessment. These levels range from selecting a pre-defined concrete and then accepting that any variability is reliably taken into account by the standard EN 206 procedures, to specifying standard procedures with additional testing where greater reassurance of constancy of performance is required. NOTE Provisions valid in the place of use may provide guidance or requirements on the levels of testing and assessment to be adopted based on: — exposure class; — type of structural element or precast component; — nature of structure, e.g. residential or commercial building, infrastructure, or other structure. (5) This standard includes optional recommendations for limiting values and properties of XRC and XRDS concretes for use where equivalent recommendations are unavailable in the place of use and ERC by testing is not adopted.
