Dowel-type fasteners for timber structures are taken to be nails, staples, screws, dowels, and bolts with nuts. Only dowel-type fasteners manufactured from steel are covered by this European Standard. Fasteners may be coated for corrosion protection, lubricants or withdrawal enhancement. |
