1.1 This document applies for small mobile tipping drum mixers as defined in 3.1. This document specifies the requirements for the design of mixers with tilting drum and with manual feeding.It does not include requirements relevant to mixing plants for batching (EN 12151-1) or continuous production, truck mixers (prEN 12609), self-propelled machines, conveying, spraying and placing machines for concrete and mortar (EN 12001 and e.g. B.17). The machinery may be stationary or it may be capable of being transported to an alternative position. 1.2 This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to mixers with tilting drum and with manual feeding, when they are used as intended and under the conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Clause 4). The exceptions are explosion hazards when using flammable or explosive materials that are significant but not dealt with. This document specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards.Maintenance is dealt with but not noise during maintenance. 1.3 This document is not applicable to mixers with tilting drum and with manual feeding which are manufactured before the date of publication of this document by CEN.
