This European Standard specifies the definitions and requirements for pipes, fittings and the system of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U), polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) structured-wall piping systems in the field of non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage.
It also specifies test parameters for the test methods referred to in this standard.
This standard is applicable to:
a) structured-wall pipes and fittings, which are intended to be used buried in ground outside the building structure only; reflected in the marking of products by "U";
b) structured-wall pipes and fittings, which are intended to be used buried in ground both outside (application area code "U") and within the building structure (application area code "D"); reflected in the marking of products by "UD".
This standard covers a range of pipe and fitting sizes, stiffness classes and impact levels and gives recommendations concerning colours.
NOTE 1 It is the responsibility of the purchaser or specifier to make the appropriate selections from these aspects, taking into account their particular requirements and any relevant national regulations and installation practices or codes.
In conjunction with prCEN/TS 13476-2 and prCEN/TS 13476-3 (see Foreword), it is applicable to PVC-U, PP and PE structured-wall pipes and fittings, to their joints and to joints with components of other plastics and non-plastics materials intended to be used for buried piping systems for the transport of foul sewage.
It is applicable to PVC-U, PP and PE structured-wall pipes and fittings with or without an integral socket with elastomeric ring seal joints as well as welded and fused joints.
