This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for gas fires and laboratory ageing for the performance verification of dry chemical powder, which will be used in marine and offshore required by MSC/Circ. 1315 Part 8. The following tests will be covered:
- jet fires
- pool fires
- laboratory ageing of the dry powder
This standard covers test procedures for dry chemical powder in marine and offshore installations. The performance of the dry powder fire extinguishing systems itself must be tested acc. to MSC/Circ. 1315. It does not cover any component tests, for example pressure regulators, gauges, expellant gas container assemblies etc.
