Projekta Nr.-
NosaukumsRecommendations and guidance on design and sizing of smoke heat exhaust ventilation systems (SHEVS) for time-dependant fires. Intended for a variety of building types and occupancies, including single-storey buildings, mezzanine floors, shopping malls, atria, complex buildings, public assembly, and un-compartmented space extending through several floors. Design criteria to meet one or more of the following design objectives: - To improve the tenability conditions for occupants. - To improve the tenability conditions for fire-fighters. - To limit damages to the building, damages to its content and impact on the business continuity. Not covered: - smoke control systems using cross-ventilation (where air displacement is fan-induced to avoid upstream smoke propagation, usually as part of fire-fighting operations); - pressure differential systems (where protected space is pressurised or unprotected space is depressurised); - natural ventilation of staircases; - fully involved fires (post flash-over situation); - rooms where the height is insufficient to create a smoke free area under the smoke layer.
