This CEN Standard specifies a test method for the qualitative and/or semi-quantitative evaluation of the photocatalytic activities of photocatalytic surfaces, the active component of which is a semiconducting photocatalyst, such as titanium dioxide.
The test measures how long it takes for 90% of the colour, or component of the colour, of a photocatalyst activity indicator ink to bleach when deposited onto the surface of the photocatalytic surface and irradiated subsequently with UVA light.
This standard is intended for use with all photocatalytic surfaces that are smooth, (i.e. not rough and non- macroporous).
