This Technical Report gives giudance for employers on the determination fo daily vibration exposure and its documentation according to the European Directive 2002/44/EC. It follows the method of EN ISO 5349-1 and 5349-2 but instead of measuring vibration values at the specific work places, this method uses vibration values from ohter sources including those provided b manufacturers of machinery according to the requirement of the Machinery Directive. It is essential that the vibration acceleration values used in the exposure assessment represent those in the specific use of the machinery. This report gives guidance into the determination of suitable acceleration values. If there are no suitable data which can be used to represent vibration in the specific working conditions, work place measurements are required. This report gives also guidance on the determination of exposure time and the dayly exposure A(8) in accordance with EN ISO 5349-1 and EN ISO 5349-2. It is assumed that the pricipal interest of the employer is to know, whether the exposure action value or the exposure limit value is exceeded. The Technical Report offers a simple method for the determination of the daily exposure level by means of a table, which indicates the daily exposure level as a function of exposure time and the equivalent vibration level. Simultaneously, this table allows this determination of the daily exposure levels even in case of the use of multiplle exposures on the same day. Further more, this Technical Report offers in an Annex typical exposure times for a limited muber of speical cases, based on observation in the field. A second Annex contains guidance for manufacturers concering information on vibration risks, which should be provided to the customer.
