NosaukumsThe proposed TS defines rules for the design of high pressure piping for hydro-power plants (penstocks). It will cover the following topics: - Scope of application; types of structures (above-ground and buried penstocks, encased pressure conduits) and pressure / diameter combinations covered. - Reliability classification of penstocks and corresponding design requirements (partial factors, design combination of actions) - Materials - Specific Actions on Penstocks - Structural Analysis; beam modelling, advanced modelling - ULS Design: i. Plastic Collapse; ii. Cyclic Plasticity; iii. Buckling / Stability / Excessive Ovalisation (for buried pipes); iv.Fatigue - SLS Design - Design of Specific Components: i. Wye branches and manifolds; ii. bends; iii. thrust rings; iv. pressure tunnel linings (internal; external pressure);
