This European Standard specifies the performance criteria of automated flow measuring systems for determining of the velocity, volume and/or mass flow rate of gas streams in ducts, stacks and chimneys from stationary sources and provides standards for their quality assurance and traceability. The standards shall include performance criteria for indirect measurement/calculations of volumetric and/or mass flow rates. This European Standard is built on reference to EU Directive 2000/76/EC on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from incineration plants and EU Directive 2001/80/EC on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from large combustion plants, but may be used in other industries where, however, the standard is not validated by experimental work.
