This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) is to facilitate – in the field of waste testing – the application of EN ISO/IEC 17025 on the competence of testing laboratories. This standard is the basis for accreditation in the European Union and in the Member States. It contains in clause four a quality management system derived from EN ISO 9000. It contains in clause five general technical requirements for all kind of testing
laboratories and relying on the testing standards for which recognition is claimed. Regarding waste testing, this CEN/TS will clarify how several general technical requirements are to be interpreted in this field. This will be done in accordance with the EN ISO/IEC 17025
annex B "guidelines for establishing applications for specific fields" in order to take into account the specific features of waste testing. Each sub-clause is either complemented with specific information or shows the mention "no additional information".
