NosaukumsThis document specifies requirements for mobility applications for smartphones to enable or improve the effective and efficient use of public transport by persons with reduced mobility and the orientation and navigation in public spaces for this user group. These includes the: a) comprehensive accessible design of the application (see 6.2); b) accessible design of the application optimized in relation to the disability or the context of use (see 6.3); c) accessible presentation of information on public transport and on public spaces; d) provision of information on accessibility of facilities and vehicles which is particularly helpful and useful for persons with reduced mobility (see Clause 7, Clause 8 and Clause 9); e) accessible design of general services; and f) provision of special services for persons with reduced mobility (see Clause 10). A prerequisite for accessibility of mobility applications is their interoperability with the operating aids (assistive functions) of the respective smartphone and its operating system. This document specifies basic requirements for the communication of a mobility application with the various information sources and systems as well as with technical equipment such as vehicle-integrated public transport systems (PTS), traffic lights or acoustic beacons (see Clause 11). However the document does not go into detail about specific technical implementation options. The application of this document is in no way a substitute for established information and orientation aids such as acoustic signals, station announcements or tactile floor indicators. The possible extensions of the information and services offered for persons with reduced mobility as well as corresponding implementation approaches are presented in this document.
