Such blood flow is most commonly used to provide systemic perfusion during cardiopulmonary bypass, but also has applications for veno-venous bypass, kinetic-assisted venous drainage, or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.</p>

<p>- centrifugal pumps used as ventricular assist devices, and</p>
