This document establishes a design process for natural, mechanical, and hybrid (combination) ventilative cooling systems to reduce overheating and cooling demand in non-residential buildings. The aim is to estimate the potential of ventilative cooling before using other cooling means such as supplementary and/or mechanical cooling in order to fulfil the thermal comfort requirements in an energy efficient way.

Excluded:

The natural ventilation of which airflow path contains plural spaces in series that require thermal comfort.

The calculation methods for ventilation air flow rates, room temperature and cooling demand, but references to these methods may be given.
